ANN WILLIAMS BIOGRAPHY
Ann Williams is a decisive leader and advocate for education throughout the State of Texas. She serves as a Board Trustee Member of Alief Independent School District and was first elected in 2007. Throughout various communities she is known as an advocate for quality education in Texas. After dedicating over 8 years participating in school board governance and working as a long-term substitute since 2003 Ann Williams left the Information Technology industry to pursue a career as CTE (Career Technical Education) teacher.
Ann states, “ I am a member of a family of educators; my sons come to call it “the family business.” Prior my arrival as classroom teacher, Williams worked in corporate (Fortune 10), non-profits and entrepreneurial environments. “As I often share with my students, if there is anyone who can provide guidance in exploring careers and technology, Ms. Williams has experiences in various industries”. Ann Williams goes beyond the talk but in her walk she brings into the classroom each day, over 30 years of information technology experience, a numbers of years as a small business owner, eight years corporate training and many years community volunteerism; so that her students are able to understand there are no limits on what they can become or career interest they may be considering. For the last twelve years she has demonstrated and applied this same philosophy in her role as a school board member.
